“This album, in its entirety, sounds like a true mission statement for the group”
— Fireworks Magazine
‘Over the Hills’ is a concept piece about the Peninsular War of 1807-1814; the bloody and protracted conflict between the armies of Napoleonic France and the Allied powers of Britain, Spain and Portugal, which raged across the Iberian Peninsula in the early years of the 19th Century.
The album does not seek to tell the whole story of the conflict. Rather, this is a collection of stories of horror and heroism from this fascinating period in history, all told through the medium of intense, dramatic and irresistibly catchy heavy metal.
